Durres sits on Albania's Adriatic coast — the country's main port city and a beach hub that most European kiters still haven't put on their maps. Rinia Sektor is the beach stretch in this area, a broad sandy coastline facing west over the open Adriatic. "Rinia" is Albanian for "youth", a hint at the beach's local popularity, and on a westerly day you start to see why a small kite scene has been building here quietly. Getting there from Durres city centre is simple. The beach runs along the coastal road heading south from town, with roadside access along the strip — no hiking gear across wilderness, just a flat, urban-adjacent approach. Park up, scope the wind, and you're at the water in minutes. The launch area is a typical sandy Adriatic beach. You're looking directly west over open water, which is precisely the direction the useful wind tends to come from. The kite window runs WSW through W to NNW (247°–337°), so your sessions here are built around westerly and northwesterly conditions. When the W or NW fills in, you have genuine open-sea fetch off the Adriatic — consistent and cross-to-onshore, the kind of angle that suits a wide range of riding styles once the conditions arrive.
