The spot is an open lagoon positioned just north of the Wadi Lahami kitesurfing centre. Mangroves frame the bay's margins, and that natural shelter keeps the water inside consistently flat — a genuine asset for intermediates working on technique or for anyone who wants powered riding without fighting chop. Wind here runs NW to N, coming in cross-onshore across the lagoon. It's consistent through the season, typically sitting in the 15–25 knot range — enough to keep most intermediate riders comfortably powered up without constant gear swaps. The cross-onshore angle is honest: you're not going to be pushed out into the open Red Sea, but you do need to track your downwind position and plan your return window. The mangrove margins are the natural boundary of your riding corridor, so keep them in mind during session. The launch area sits adjacent to the centre, with direct beach access and room to rig and walk your kite without stress. Give the mangrove edges clearance on your upwind lines — they mark where the sheltered bay ends. Getting here takes planning.
