About Senigallia

Senigallia sits on the central Adriatic coast of Italy's Marche region, in Ancona province, roughly midway along the Italian side of the Adriatic. The beach faces due east, which puts it squarely in the path of the predominant northerly, north-easterly and easterly winds that sweep down and across the Adriatic — all sitting comfortably inside the 15°–165° usable kite window. Southeasterlies also deliver workable sessions when conditions swing that way. Getting to the beach is typical of an established Italian Adriatic resort: the town has solid road access and parking infrastructure. The beach itself is sandy, and the water runs flat to choppy depending on the wind direction and how much Adriatic fetch is behind it. A long northeast track builds a punchy short chop closer to shore; more directly easterly winds tend to keep things flatter. Neither direction delivers much swell — this is not a wave spot — but the water character suits freeride and progression sessions well. An IKO-certified school operates on site, which makes this a genuine option for riders looking for instruction or beginners who want a flagged, supervised environment. One thing to know before you pack the car: in summer, launching is restricted to a designated kite zone. The beach fills with swimmers and the free-range setup you might expect in shoulder season simply does not apply in July and August. Arrive knowing where the kite zone is and plan your session around it. Spring and autumn are the strongest seasons and the ones worth prioritising. The overall operational window runs March through December, giving you a long calendar even if the summer peak asks for a bit more coordination. In the stronger months, the 15–25 knot range covers most days that are worth getting out for. Intermediates will find conditions here comfortable and predictable. Beginners have the school close by. Big-air hunters and wave riders will likely want to look elsewhere along the Italian coast, but if your goal is solid freeride kilometres on reliable Adriatic wind, Senigallia delivers without drama. Facilities in the area are well stocked. For a coffee or something cold after a session, Al Secchiello, Bar Penna, Beerstrò, Bicchia, Buffet della Stazione, and Casa Nana Social Club are all within reach. If you want a proper meal, Aniko', Antica Macelleria Canestrari, and Cibarya cover the restaurant side. City Pub is the option if the evening stretches on. Senigallia as a town carries the full infrastructure of a mid-sized Italian coastal resort — accommodation, food, transport — so it supports a multi-day trip without any logistical improvisation required.
