Sibaltan sits on the sunrise coast of Palawan, roughly 42 kilometres east of El Nido town — remote enough to keep the crowds away, close enough to make logistics manageable if you plan ahead. The barangay's beach faces NNE, placing it squarely in the path of the Northeast Amihan trade wind that runs November through April. The wind arrives side-onshore from the right, which is about as good an angle as you can ask for: you can work upwind freely, and the beach stays in play as a landing option throughout your session. The journey from El Nido is slow going — 42 kilometres of road takes time — but that friction is precisely the point. Most riders stop at El Nido and never make it out here, which means Sibaltan delivers something increasingly rare in Southeast Asian kiteboarding: genuinely uncrowded water. Most sessions involve a handful of riders at most; many days you'll have the entire bay to yourself. The Amihan season drives consistent NE winds in the 15–25 knot range, and with 243-plus windy days per year the statistics are reassuring. The usable kite window runs 290° through 110°, covering the full NE arc — this is a trade-wind setup with real breadth, not a narrow slot that disappears when the wind clocks a few degrees. February through April tends to offer the most settled conditions once the November–December transition period is behind you. The water character reflects the bay setting: sheltered enough to be forgiving on lighter days, open enough to build good speed when the Amihan fills in. Northern Palawan's karst coastline means the area can have shallows and reef sections, so take time to walk the shoreline and read the water before launching. Self-rescue confidence matters more here than at a well-supported tourist beach — you're remote, and downwind is not where you want to end up without a plan.
