Compared with the busier central Algarve locations, Altura stays calm — fewer people, less noise, more space to focus on your session rather than jockeying for launch real estate. Accommodation options a few kilometres away include Parque de Caravanas de Altura - Campo e Mar, Quinta de São Gabriel, and Vale do Boto, making a multi-day stay practical. For food, Dom Rodrigo is the nearest restaurant option. None of these facilities are right on the sand, so bring water and snacks if you're spending a full day at the water. May through October is the working window, with the Nortada most consistent through the core summer months. If you're looking for a quiet flat-water stretch of Algarve coast that isn't on every kite school's circuit, Praia de Altura is worth the drive east.
