Mustique sits at the southern end of the Grenadines — a private island in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, reached by ferry from Bequia to the north. Macaroni Beach faces east, tucked into a sheltered bay on the island's windward side. Getting here takes more planning than most kite spots, but the reward is real: a very uncrowded bay with flat water and consistent ENE trade wind. Access to the island comes via ferry from Bequia, which itself is reached from St. Vincent by inter-island ferry or small aircraft. Mustique's private-island status keeps visitor numbers controlled — the beach doesn't fill with crowds. This is one of the more genuinely quiet spots in the Caribbean, and that shows in the water. The beach faces east, oriented to catch ENE winds arriving side-shore from the right. The trade winds typically run 18–25 knots and blow year-round, but the most consistent window is December through May. That's when the northeast trades are at their steadiest across the southern Grenadines. The bay is the real story. Sheltered by the island's geography, it produces genuinely flat water — low chop, manageable surface. That makes Macaroni a solid choice for intermediate riders wanting to work on technique without fighting a swell. Experienced riders will find it relaxed rather than technical: the wind is consistent and the water doesn't demand much from you. Launch from the beach itself. With the wind arriving side-shore from the right, position your kite downwind and check the water for swimmers before sheeting in. Mustique attracts day-trippers, so the beach can be occasionally shared. Confirm the bay boundaries before you launch — the protected bay keeps you well clear of open water, but knowing your downwind exit before you're powered up is always the right call. Facilities on the island are several. Restaurants include Basil's Bar, Mystique Island Embassy Bar, The View, and Mystique Island Supplies. Bar and café options are The Cotton House and Brocklesby Bar. All venues sit within the island's private and exclusive context — budget accordingly, as pricing reflects Mustique's character. This is not a spot you book for volume sessions. You come because it's nearly empty, the water is flat and clear, and the setting is as remote as the Caribbean gets. If you're already visiting Mustique, pack your gear without hesitation. If you're routing yourself solely for kiting, factor in the ferry logistics and island costs — the riding is good, but the experience is the real draw.
