Aigues Blanques occupies a narrow strip of golden sand on Ibiza's northeast coast, hemmed in by high limestone cliffs that rise dramatically on both sides. The beach faces roughly ENE, which puts it squarely in the path of easterly winds — and when the east fills in, this spot generates some of the most powerful, well-shaped waves on the island. That said, the first thing to check before making the trip: the access road has been closed due to an increased risk of falling stones from the cliffs. Verify current access conditions before you go. If the road is passable, the approach delivers you to a tight, dramatic setting. The cliffs provide some shelter from non-easterly directions but offer no forgiveness for mistakes — this is a contained, committing environment. The beach narrows further with the tide, and the launch — from rock or whatever beach section is available — is firmly in expert territory. Every credible source rates Aigues Blanques as experts only, and the physical reality backs that up. The usable wind arc runs from 5° to 115°, with E winds sitting right in the productive window. When east winds fill in, the cliffs channel the breeze and the result is clean, powerful wave conditions with good organisation. The water is crystal-clear even when the surf is pumping — something that makes Ibiza's northeast genuinely striking to ride in, provided you have the skill to stay in control. Think committed wave riding rather than a mellow cruising session. Wing, foil, and windsurf riders launch from the rocks or from whatever beach strip is available depending on tide and swell. Rock formations are part of the access picture, so a walk of the spot before you rig is essential. Footwear into the water and a clear plan for your entry and exit are non-negotiable. Aigues Blanques is also one of two official nudist beaches on Ibiza, which shapes the atmosphere on shore. The crowd is typically relaxed — a mix of sunbathers and watersports people rather than a resort scene. Chiringuito Aguas Blancas and Chiringuito de Aguas Blancas both operate at the beach, so refuelling on-site is straightforward. Can Gat and Ca La Calma Calm Club are also in the area. The combination of cliff hazards, road closure history, rock-strewn launch zones, and expert-level wave conditions means this spot demands serious preparation. Go with someone who knows the beach, scout access beforehand, and be realistic about what the swell and wind are doing. When Aigues Blanques is working, it delivers some of the finest wave kiting in the Balearics.
