Approach from the coastal road is uncomplicated; this is not a hidden spot requiring local knowledge to find. The launch area is a sandy beach fronting the bay, and the water inside is characteristically shallow and flat for the Gulf — a useful quality when you're learning to water-start or building confidence in your riding. Don't expect the push and power of an Atlantic beach break; the Gulf tends toward calm surface conditions, with chop building when the wind strengthens. That flatness is a feature for intermediates and riders working technique, though it makes for a more relaxed session than a demanding technical challenge for experienced hands. Wind behaviour here tracks the wider Gulf seasonal rhythm. NE flow is the most talked-about direction on this coastline, and the arc captures it squarely. SE and S winds also sit well inside the window and can produce solid sessions. Conditions are not the machine-gun consistency of a true trade-wind island setup — the Gulf has its own pacing — so a conditions check before you rig is worth the two minutes it takes. For skill level, the generally flat, shallow water makes this a reasonable choice for intermediates on manageable days.
