Wide sandy beach at Broomhill launch, near Rye. Shore normal S (180°). Works in any wind containing S — ESE to WSW — with the prevailing SW side-onshore from the right. Shallow water 200 m offshore. Unusable 3 h either side of high tide when water reaches the shingle bank. No kiting at the dunes end. Strong thermal sea breeze reinforces SW forecast by 5-15 kn in summer. Mixed flat water and chop.

About Camber Sands

Camber Sands is a beach in East Sussex, England, in the village of Camber, near Rye. It is the only sand dune system in East Sussex. Located east of the estuary of the River Rother at Rye Bay, it stretches 3 miles (4.8 km) to just beyond the Kent border, where shingle (pebbles) take over again.
