Getting there is straightforward: the main road through town runs directly to the beachfront, with parking available near the beach access points. Summer weekends draw crowds from Charleston, so arriving early pays off on busy days. The launch area centers on the sandbars off the island's tip. When SW to SE wind is running — the dominant pattern through summer — these sandbars offer a clean setup spot and a good angle onto the water. The Atlantic here is warm, the bottom is sandy, and the shallow water makes it more forgiving than many East Coast spots.
