Maragogi Beach is planted on Brazil's northeastern Atlantic coast, close to the border where Maranhão meets Piauí — a stretch of coastline that has built a serious reputation in the South American kite community and carries the title of one of Brazil's premier kite destinations. The beach faces north, pointing straight into the Atlantic, which means the dominant NE-E trade wind hits the shore at a textbook launch angle. The usable wind window runs from 270° around through 90°, and the NE-E trades sit squarely inside it. That alignment is what makes this place tick: when the season is on, the wind doesn't just show up — it arrives with the consistency that only true trade wind corridors deliver. The peak window runs July through December, where you can typically expect 15–25 knots across that seven-month stretch.
