Kite Area sits on the Atlantic coast of Aquitaine, in the long pine-backed sweep of coastline that defines southwestern France's relationship with the sea. At just under 45°N, you're in genuine Landes country: wide open beaches, maritime pines pressing to the dunes, and a westerly fetch that crosses the full breadth of the Atlantic before it reaches you. Parking is near the beach access, and the carry through the dunes to the water is manageable with full gear. The beach itself is broad and sandy in the characteristic way of this coast — the kind of width that gives you honest rigging room and a comfortable approach to the water's edge. Tidal range is worth watching: on this stretch of the Atlantic coast, the difference between high and low water can pull significant beach area in and out of play and reshape your launch considerably. If you're new to this beach, that's the right first conversation before you commit to a session.
