World-class flat-water kite and windsurf beach on the western coast of southern Evia (Euboea), 2.5 km south of Marmari village. The north winds — channelled between Evia and the Attica coast — deliver consistent 25–35 kt with wind probability exceeding 90% in July–September. The small islet of Mikros Patelios offshore deflects swell, keeping the wide sandy beach flat. KiteGreece school operates on the beach with board/kite rental. Intermediate to advanced due to strong sea currents. Season May–September.
About Megali Ammos (Marmari, Evia)
Marmari is a village and a former municipality in Euboea, Greece, in the southeastern end of the island. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Karystos, of which it is a municipal unit. Marmari has an area of 241.332 km2. The Greek National Road 44 runs through it and there are ferry routes with the mainland port of Rafina. The mountains dominate the east. Its main economy are local businesses and agriculture.
