Kitesurfing Skala Oropou

Attica, Greece

Wind & Conditions

Sheltered beach on the Attica coast opposite Evia island, 53 km north of Athens. The narrow Euripos strait between Attica and Evia acts as a natural wind tunnel for east-to-southeast thermal winds, which build reliably from 13:00–14:00 and deliver 11–19 kt side-onshore to the sandy beach. Suitable for all skill levels; popular beginner school spot due to flat, shallow water and predictable afternoon thermal. Strong northerly Meltemi can overpower the thermal and make kiting impossible on some summer days. Season May–September.
