You're looking at a wide, flat-water beach less than 15 minutes from the city centre — reached via the causeway off Clontarf Road — with a wind arc broad enough to catch a solid share of Dublin's wind days. Getting there is straightforward. Follow Clontarf Road to the causeway, cross onto the island, and the beach opens up ahead of you. Parking can fill quickly on good wind days, so arriving early pays off, especially at weekends. The beach is wide enough to give you real room to rig and set up — but make no mistake, this is Dublin's go-to kite spot and it attracts a crowd whenever the wind shows up. The shore faces roughly east over Dublin Bay, and the usable wind arc runs from 0° to 180° — north through northeast, east, southeast and south. An easterly brings the wind straight in onshore, which works on a beach this wide but demands you stay aware of your downwind space, especially when it's busy. Northern and southerly directions tend to come in more side-shore, which many riders prefer for a cleaner launch and a more predictable session. The water is the headline.
