Getting here requires a 4x4 access track, which filters out anyone who didn't plan ahead. Sort yourself a high-clearance vehicle or a lift with someone who has one, because the sandy trail is genuinely part of the experience, not an obstacle to work around. Once you're through, you land on a wide, open sandy beach facing the Mediterranean directly. The wind arc runs from 180° to 359°, so anything from southerly through west to north puts you in business — and it's the northerly and north-westerly Erez breeze that shows up most reliably here. Expect it to run 15 to 22 knots on a solid day, typically building through the afternoon as the land heats up. Classic coastal thermal pattern: steady enough to plan around, but worth a look at the morning sky before you start rigging. The water out front is flat to choppy. On lighter days you'll find calm-ish conditions close in; when the Erez builds, short chop develops quickly — still very ridable, but not the place to be working out your water starts for the first time. That said, the spot genuinely works across all skill levels. Beginners get a wide sandy launch with room to sort gear without pressure; intermediates and advanced riders have open water and fetch to stretch their legs. Parking is informal but workable once you're past the track. Launching is straightforward on most days — the wind comes in without significant obstruction across the south-through-northwest arc, and it's rarely crowded enough to create congestion on the launch. The season runs April through October, with summer delivering the most consistent Erez conditions. There are no summer weekend restrictions at Jeep Beach, which makes it a realistic day-trip from Tel Aviv when other nearby spots are closed or packed out. Water temperature climbs from May onward — a shorty or bare skin from mid-season through the peak. For food and drinks, HaZedef restaurant is your post-session option. If you're turning this into a longer stay, Jungle Jaffa Hostel offers accommodation nearby, keeping the morning drive to a minimum. One thing worth building into your plan: the 4x4 track means you're committing once you turn in.
