Lido di Spina sits within the Po Delta Park on Italy's northern Adriatic coast, a long sandy shore that borders the protected wetlands and pine forests near Comacchio. It's one of the few genuinely kite-accessible spots on this northern stretch of the Adriatic, and the reason is simple: the beach faces east, which lines everything up. Comacchio is the base town. The beach is reached by road through the delta — flat terrain, wide sandy shore, and an open coastline that keeps the launch uncomplicated and readable. There's no dramatic geography here; it's an expansive, low-lying shoreline. The east-facing orientation means NE to E winds arrive side-onshore from the right — a clean, comfortable angle for launching and riding. Scirocco (SE) days are also workable, coming in side-onshore. These are the wind directions to plan around. The Bora — a NNE wind common to the northern Adriatic — is a different animal.
