La Cinta is a 5-kilometre east-facing beach just outside San Teodoro in northeast Sardinia — one of the longer, more open kite setups on this stretch of the island. The beach is a broad sandy strip with open water to the east, running far enough in both directions that you rarely feel hemmed in, even on a busy day. Getting there from San Teodoro is easy — the beach is a short drive from the town centre, well signposted and accessible. The sand is wide and flat right to the waterline, which makes rigging and de-rigging simple. Outside of peak summer you'll have room to spread out; August packs the beach with sunbathers and the usable launch corridor shrinks noticeably, so early mornings work better when the season is at its fullest. The wind arc runs from north through south (0°–180°), with the practical working window sitting in the NE to SE range. On an east-facing beach, that puts the wind onshore to side-shore depending on where it settles on the day — both directions are usable, but the exact angle matters for your launch and self-rescue plan. Conditions here are driven by a mix of thermal and frontal systems, which together keep La Cinta active from spring through autumn. Afternoon thermals are the typical warm-season pattern: they build as the land heats up, give you a solid window through the middle of the day, and ease towards evening. Frontal passages bring a different character — more power, less predictability, and worth a proper look at the forecast before you commit to rigging. The 5km length gives you real running room in both directions. Water close to shore tends to stay relatively flat, which makes it useful for technique work or simply for not fighting chop on every run. Further out, the sea state varies with conditions and wind strength. For skill level, the side-to-onshore wind makes La Cinta manageable for progressing intermediates on a clean thermal afternoon. Frontal conditions are a different conversation — gustier and more demanding. Assess your kit and your skills honestly before launching in those windows. After a session, Beachbar Lacinta is right at the sand — the default first stop. For a proper sit-down meal, Da Fabio and Da Nardino are both nearby. Bar The Garden, Alto Gusto, bal harbour, and Florian café cover the café and light food end. If you're making a trip of it, Helios Hotel, Hotel Onda Marina, and Hotel Sandalyon are all in the area. Spring and early autumn tend to be the sweet spots: consistent wind, manageable crowds, and the full season's thermal rhythm in place. Catch La Cinta on a clean NE or SE forecast and it earns its reputation as one of Sardinia's more dependable kite beaches.
