Paviljoen 't Mar is the beach pavilion on the Mirnser Klif, the low glacial cliff on the IJsselmeer shore of Gaasterland — and the only place to eat and drink right at the kite spot. Rebuilt in 2021 on a site that has hosted a pavilion since 1913, the glass-fronted building and its terrace look straight out over the water, and an on-site webcam doubles as a conditions check before you drive out. The kitchen runs all day, from coffee and lunch through borrel snacks to dinner, leaning on Frisian suppliers for its cheese, pastry and ice cream, with vegetarian and vegan options throughout. Parking is free and plentiful, the building is wheelchair accessible, kids get a play corner and dogs are welcome on the terrace. SUP boards and e-bikes can be rented on site.
