Kiting permitted at Hellestø and Byberg; Orre itself is a bird reserve. Season May–September. Strong autumn storms bring powerful wave-riding conditions.
Jærens rev is the westernmost sandbank off the coast of Jæren. It is located approximately 3 miles (4.8 km) off Reve in Klepp Municipality, between Orrestranda and Borestranda. Its location has been used to define the limits of the Norwegian fishery zone.
