Bagasbas Beach sits on the northeast Pacific coast of Luzon, in Camarines Norte province within the Bicol region. Most Philippine-bound kiters skip straight past it on their way to busier spots, which is exactly what makes it worth visiting. The beach faces directly into the Amihan — the seasonal northeast trade wind that runs from November through April — and the Pacific exposure means you're pairing consistent side-onshore wind with real ocean swell. Daet is a provincial town, manageable in size, with the beach running along its coastal edge. Camarines Norte is off the typical tourist trail, so getting here takes some planning, but the payoff is a spot that isn't competing for water space with a hundred other kiters. The launch area is a stretch of open beach with accommodation sitting close behind it. Bagasbas Resort Hotel is roughly 55m from the water, which is about as convenient as beach access gets — you can be rigging in the time it takes most people to find a parking spot at a busier spot. Tide affects how much sand you're working with, so scoping the beach at low water before you commit to a launch point is worth the five minutes. The beach faces squarely into the 320°–100° wind arc, putting the Amihan in a clean side-onshore angle. That's an honest wind direction for ocean kiting — you have somewhere to go if things go wrong without being blown directly offshore. The water character is where the Pacific exposure earns its keep: swell rolls in from the northeast, and on the right days you're looking at rideable wave conditions. Wave riding and freeriding are what this spot is built for. It's not a flat-water destination. Bring self-rescue competence. There's no kite school or equipment rental in the facility list for this spot, and the ocean exposure means conditions can shift. Intermediate and above riders who know how to handle moving water and can sort themselves out if needed will get the most from this place. Beginners would do better to build flat-water hours elsewhere first. Crowd levels are low compared to Boracay — noticeably so. If you've kited Boracay at peak Amihan and wanted more space on the water, Bagasbas is worth the extra effort to reach. Accommodation clusters tight to the beach. Beyond Bagasbas Resort Hotel at 55m, Bagasbas Lighthouse Hotel Resort, Bagasbas Bed & Breadfast, and Bagasbas Surfer's Dine-Inn are all within 350m — walkable with a bag of kit. For food, Andika sits at about 335m and 2GANG Burgers at 516m. For the evening, 2Gang Sportsbar and Bimbo Abina Videoke Bar are both within 800m. Plan around the Amihan season — November to April — and you'll find a consistent, uncrowded spot with real wave potential.
