The beach is sandy and wide, running through a well-developed strip of accommodation and dining. Kite schools operate in the tourist zone, so if you're arriving with a newer rider or want a local briefing on conditions, instruction is genuinely on hand. The launch area is relatively straightforward — no rocky ledges, no difficult entry points — which is part of why this spot suits beginners well. The wind here runs from the northeast through summer, a thermal that builds reliably across the warmer months. With around 184 windy days per year, you're not gambling on a single week's forecast. The usable kite window spans 330° to 150°, meaning the northeasterly arrives cross-onshore on this E/NE-facing shore — a solid angle that keeps you from being pushed straight out while still generating good power. Expect 12 to 22 knots in the summer thermal cycle; it can be lighter in the mornings and build into the afternoon, which is a common Mediterranean pattern. The Gulf of Hammamet keeps swell manageable. There's no open-ocean exposure here; the gulf shelters the coast and flattens the water out. That makes this spot genuinely good for freestyle and for riders still building confidence — flat-ish, warm water with a cross-onshore breeze and kite schools nearby is close to an ideal learning environment. Water temperatures range from around 12°C in winter to 29°C at peak summer, so a wetsuit makes sense from November through March, but you'll be comfortable in a shorty or boardshorts from June onward. April through October is the window to target. The thermal is most consistent from late spring through early autumn; outside that range the wind becomes less predictable and the cooler water adds neoprene requirements.
