Wind typically runs 15 to 25 knots, and the season you want is August through January when the trades are at their most reliable. Outside those months conditions thin out, so plan around the high season if consistency matters. The water splits into two distinct characters, which makes this spot genuinely versatile. Out front on the ocean side you get wave-riding conditions — Atlantic swell combined with the trade wind gives a proper surf-kite setup when the swell cooperates. Closer to the river mouth the water flattens into lagoon-style sections, easier going and more forgiving for freestyle work or cruising.
