That superlative — world's largest saltwater lagoon — matters the moment you arrive. The lagoon is entirely sealed off from the Atlantic, which means ocean swell never enters the riding zone. What you get instead is flat water that stays calm regardless of what conditions look like outside, a combination that is genuinely rare at a spot of this scale. The usable kite window runs from west through north to east (270°–90°), and the dominant wind is a northerly to north-easterly that typically settles in at 11–18 knots. The lagoon's wide, open fetch channels that wind cleanly across the water. That consistency, stacked on top of the flat surface, is what has made Praia Seca the standout freestyle destination for riders south of northeastern Brazil. Depth is the other major selling point. The lagoon is waist-deep across most of the riding area. For beginners, that means working through water starts and body dragging without the anxiety of deep-water rescues or breaking swell. For riders building their freestyle, it means a forgiving landing zone — a crash at speed is a wipeout, not a collision with the bottom. Experienced freestylers can commit to passes, transitions and unhooked moves on consistently glassy water. The spot genuinely accommodates all levels at the same time, which you do not often find. The beach frontage is sandy and manageable for rigging. Getting a hand for your launch is always the smarter call, but the shore gives you enough room to work. The riding zone is wide, and with waist-deep water throughout, self-rescue is straightforward. Facilities are well covered along the strip.
