Playa Hermosa sits tucked inside the Gulf of Papagayo on Guanacaste's Pacific coast — one of Costa Rica's more sheltered stretches of shoreline. The beach is part of the Papagayo Peninsula's well-developed coastal zone, so getting here is relatively straightforward by Costa Rica standards.
