Premier kite beach on the west coast of Rhodes, 10 km south of Rhodes city, and one of the largest water-sports centres in the Aegean. The bay faces westward into the open sea; the Meltemi arrives cross-onshore from the north-west (from the left), building from light morning thermals to 15–25 kt by afternoon. Gently sloping sandy beach, shallow for the first 20 m. Several large kite and windsurf centres operate side-by-side. Season May–October; peak June–September.
Ialysos is a town and a former municipality on the island of Rhodes, in the Dodecanese, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Rhodes, of which it is a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 16.7 km2. It is the second-largest town on the island of Rhodes, having a population of approximately 13,000. Ialysos is located eight kilometres west of the town of Rhodes, the island's capital, on the island's northwestern coast.
