The north-coast beach at Kolimbithra faces the open Aegean; the Meltemi arrives directly onshore from the north at 20–30 kt on peak days, producing lively wave conditions. Tinos is renowned for strong and consistent Meltemi due to its exposed northern position between Mykonos and Andros. Intermediate-to-advanced spot; limited beach space means careful kite-management is essential. Season June–September.
Panormos or Pyrgos (Πύργος) is a village and a former community on the island of Tinos, in the Cyclades, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Tinos, of which it is a municipal unit. The population was 566 at the 2021 census and the land area is 33.378 km². It is a small fishing village, located at the northwestern tip of the island. It shares the island of Tinos with the municipal units of Tinos (town) and Exomvourgo.
June to September. Peak Meltemi July–August, 20–30 kt from the north. Spring (April–May) can be gusty; October sees the season wind down.
