The nearest airport is Lamezia Terme, roughly 20 minutes away. That makes arrival unusually simple for somewhere this unhyped: fly in, pick up your bag, and you're on the beach before the afternoon thermal builds. The beach faces west. The dominant northwest thermal arrives side-onshore — a clean angle that keeps launches predictable and gives you upwind margin to work with. Southwest wind shows up occasionally too, and both directions fit comfortably within the usable kite window (200°–340°), so you're never caught in an awkward cross-offshore situation. Thermals typically build from around 13:00 to 17:30. On most days you're looking at 11–17 knots; the stronger sessions push toward 25 knots when conditions align. That range is broad enough to suit an intermediate rider learning to go upwind as well as an experienced kiter looking for proper freeride sessions. The move is to arrive early, watch the build, and get on the water once the thermal is fully developed — usually mid-afternoon. The launch area is wide and spacious. There's room to rig without crowding the person next to you, which you notice immediately if you've spent time on tighter beaches. Water depth near the shore runs around 2–3 metres with a consistent bottom — no surprise shallows on the way out or back in, and body-dragging after a fall is calm and predictable.
