Parking tends to be roadside along this stretch — not a dedicated facility, but workable outside the height of summer when the area gets busier. The strait's geography is known for channelling and sometimes accelerating wind, which can mean conditions shift quicker than at a more open-water site. There's usually something to work with across skill levels. Intermediates will generally feel comfortable; advanced riders will find the conditions engaging. Beginners are catered for directly through the schools on site. After a session, the immediate area is well-stocked. Bar Florida, Cafè Yemayá, and MOON cover the café and cold-drink angle. For food, I Cavalieri di San Giorgio, Ombelico Del Mondo, Krasty Rosticceria Pizzeria, Pizza&Food, and Pizzeria Acqua e Farina are all in the vicinity — a proper southern Italian spread, which is never a hardship after a long water session. A few things to be aware of on the water: the Strait of Messina is one of the busier maritime corridors in the Mediterranean, so boat traffic is a real consideration. Keep your downwind margin honest. And as with any spot where specific hazard data isn't well-documented, the best move on arrival is to check in with one of the kite schools — FreeSpirits or Kiteloop School — who'll know what's running on the day better than any remote source. Bring a range of kites if you can. The north-south wind corridor is broad, but actual speeds will vary with direction and time of day, and having options means you're not stuck watching from the beach if conditions shift.
