Jordan'Surf & Kitezoo sits on a beach at Piona, a small locality on the northern end of Lake Como's eastern branch in Lombardy. Reaching the spot is straightforward from the main lakeshore road; Piona is well-known in the local watersports community and Jordan'Surf & Kitezoo is the visible landmark at the water's edge. Parking is generally available near the beach, though high summer draws more visitors to this corner of the lake, so earlier arrivals make sense on busy days. The usable kite window runs from 90° through to 270° — east through south to west — which means the spot picks up winds moving along the lake's length as well as those pushing in from the eastern hillsides or crossing from the west. The enclosed basin keeps swell essentially absent, giving you a consistently flat ride. That flatness makes Piona a reasonable choice for intermediates building confidence, or for anyone who wants to work on freestyle without having to manage ocean chop at the same time. Jordan'Surf & Kitezoo, the kite school right on site, is your first stop for lessons, equipment hire, and an honest read on local conditions. Wind on an Alpine lake can fill in hard then drop faster than any forecast suggests — the school staff will know whether the day is actually shaping up or fading, and what size to rig for it. That local call is worth more than an app on a lake this enclosed. The food and drink options in the area are genuinely solid. For a quick stop between sessions, Kiosko Piona Beach, Bar Roma, Bar Tabacchina, Green Bistrot, and Legnone all cover café and bar territory. Sit-down meals are well-catered too, with El Logasc, El Mercante, Osteria Del Nibbio, and Ristorante Bar Green Piona all nearby. A final note on the wind: mountain lake thermals are their own discipline. They can build reliably for hours, or cut off without warning as the valley shading shifts.
