Les Deveses sits on a stretch of sandy coastline north of Dénia town, in the southern reaches of Spain's Costa Blanca. The spot is a dedicated kite channel — a relocation from the old Riomar setup — built wider and with more room to manoeuvre than its predecessor. That extra width shows the moment you arrive and assess the space. The approach follows the coastal road north of Dénia towards Les Deveses beach. Parking is near the channel, though demand picks up on summer weekends and the best spots go quickly once the afternoon wind fills in. The launch area is a dedicated sandy corridor; lay your kite out, run your lines, and you're in the water within minutes. The bottom is shallow and sandy throughout, which keeps things forgiving when you're working on water-starts or you catch an edge mid-gust. The wind picture has two main characters. The Garbí — an E to ESE thermal — is the headliner, typically arriving in the afternoon through summer and running in the 12–20 knot range. The usable kite window spans 45° to 225°, so the NE Gregal also fits cleanly inside it. The channel orientation makes the most of these directions: when the Garbí fills in, you get organised, flat water rather than a confused sea. Summer thermals generally arrive around 14:00 and run into early evening, making a long lunch followed by a session the natural rhythm here. The water is the spot's headline feature for most riders: genuinely flat, shallow, and sandy from shore outward. There's no reef to worry about, no significant shore break to navigate, and a forgiving bottom that makes repeated falls considerably less painful. Les Deveses leans toward beginners and intermediates, and the infrastructure reflects that. Multiple kite schools operate in the area — All Ride School, Costa Blanca Kiteschool, and KS-Kitesurf-Wingfoil-Center among them — so instruction and rental are accessible without a trip into town. The season runs April through October. Summer brings the most consistent afternoon thermals, though it also brings the heaviest beach traffic. Spring and early autumn typically offer quieter water with conditions that still hold up well. For food and drink after a session, Bar de Mar Denia and Fina Beach Club Denia are nearby options. Accommodation covers a fair range: Hotel Los Angeles Denia, Hotel Rhys Dénia, and Hotel La Posada Del Mar Denia for mid-range stays, with Daniya Dénia Spa & Business and the Denia Marriott La Sella Golf Resort & Spa for something more substantial. One practical note: the relocation from Riomar has made Les Deveses better organised, but also more popular. Summer afternoons can get busy on the water. Arriving early — both to secure parking and to get your lines laid before the channel fills — is worth the effort. The afternoon thermal makes a late start tempting, but you'll have more space if you're set up before the main crowd arrives.
