About Alaçati North Wind Spot

Alaçati North Wind Spot sits roughly 2.5 kilometres north of the celebrated main Alaçati bay, along the same Çeşme Peninsula coastline. It operates as a secondary launch — the one you head to when the Meltemi clocks slightly west of north, shifting the main southern lagoon out of its best window while this stretch of coast finds its angle. The usable wind arc runs broadly from southwest through north to northeast, covering the range of Meltemi variations that would otherwise leave you watching flags on the beach at the main spot. Getting there from Alaçati town is a short drive north along the coast. There's no complicated approach, though exact parking logistics are the sort of thing worth asking a local instructor about on the day — secondary spots tend to be more improvised in that regard. The water character is the key difference from the main Alaçati reputation. The southern flat-water lagoon is what most riders come to the peninsula for; up here, it's shallower and choppier. The Aegean doesn't give you glass at this northern stretch. What you get instead is a more honest, punchier surface that suits intermediate to advanced freestyle riders working on unhooked moves or wake-style tricks without the flat-water crowds. Pop feels different here, landings are less forgiving, and that's partly the point. This is not a beginner launch. The combination of choppier water, a less-developed beach setup, and the variable nature of a secondary spot means intermediate and above is the right threshold. If you're still building water-starts and transitions, spend those sessions at the main bay first. School infrastructure carries over from main Alaçati — the kite schools serving the area cover this spot too, so lessons and gear rental are accessible without heading back south. Deniz Pide is the closest food option, roughly 500 metres away and practical for a quick post-session meal. Alaçatı İmren Restaurant is around 1.2 kilometres out for something more substantial. For drinks, C & V Bar and Bolulu Hastan Usta are both within a few kilometres. Cesme Sirin Villa Otel sits at around 2.4 kilometres if you need accommodation nearby. The Meltemi can build significantly through the afternoon and ease in the morning. At a secondary spot with less local knowledge baked into every session, a quick check-in with the school before launching pays off — not out of caution, but because knowing how the wind behaves here specifically makes for a better session. Over multiple days in Alaçati, this northern stretch earns at least one session. It's quieter, it's different, and on the right Meltemi day it can be excellent.
