About Chernomorets

Chernomorets sits on Bulgaria's Black Sea coast in Burgas Province, a compact fishing village south of Burgas city. The beach here is a quieter alternative to the busier Burgas Bay spots — smaller scale, fewer crowds, and a more relaxed pace that suits kiters who want to focus on riding rather than navigating a packed launch zone. The approach is via the coastal road between Burgas and Sozopol, with the village easy to find and beach access a short walk from parking in the centre. The launch area is a sandy stretch with enough room to rig without stepping on each other, and the uncrowded conditions mean you're not fighting for space even in high season. Wind comes predominantly from the NE and E — the thermal-influenced coastal flow the Black Sea is known for from late spring through October. Expect around 10–18 knots on a typical session day, landing this spot firmly in the moderate-wind category. The usable wind arc runs from north through east to south (0°–180°), so cross-onshore and side-onshore conditions are the productive ones. This orientation keeps the water manageable rather than chaotic. The waves run small to medium — enough to add texture and make things interesting, but not so heavy that beginners feel out of their depth. It's a genuinely beginner-friendly spot: the wind is usually consistent enough to work with, the water isn't going to punish mistakes too hard, and kite school KITE-DOCTOR is based here if you're just starting out or want a structured session. Intermediates will find room to develop skills — the side-shore angle, manageable swell, and decent wind window add up to a proper session without anything working against you. Advanced riders chasing big conditions might find the spot a bit mellow, but it's a solid place to train. Facilities are well covered for a village of this size. Season runs May through October. Early months tend to be quieter on tourist numbers; July and August bring more reliable thermal flow alongside peak crowds. September and October can deliver some of the cleanest sessions as summer visitors thin out. Before launching, check wind direction carefully — winds outside the 0°–180° arc won't work well here. Keep an eye on other beach users during peak summer weeks and any boat traffic nearshore.
