About Beauduc

Beauduc sits at the eastern tip of the Camargue, where the marshlands and rice paddies of Provence give way to the open Mediterranean. It's one of the most celebrated kite spots in France — and deliberately hard to reach. That friction is what keeps it worth going. To get there you take a rough unpaved track toward the coast, park where vehicles must stop, and walk roughly 2 km out to the beach itself. No shortcuts. Most people turn back at the track. Those who make the walk find a broad sweep of white sand, turquoise water that stays shallow for a long way out, and almost nobody else around. On a good wind day, it feels about as free as kiting gets on the French coast. The water is a genuine selling point. Flat and shallow for a long distance out, it's ideal for working on freestyle and jumps without depth anxiety. The sandy bottom is consistent in the main riding zone — no reef surprises, no sudden drop-offs. Wind-wise, Beauduc handles a wide range of directions. Mistral, southerly, SW, and westerly conditions all produce sessions here, and the spot is active year-round. The Mistral in particular can deliver strong and gusty conditions — size down conservatively if it's blowing hard, and build in a safety margin before committing to a full session. There is nothing on the beach. No toilets, no rescue service, no snack bar. Bring water, food, and everything your kit might need before you start the walk. A kite failure here means a long carry back out on foot. For instruction, Kitesurf Wing Foil School And Store A Beauduc By Absolutkiteboarding and Lilikitesurf, Ecole Kitesurf Beauduc both operate in the wider area, around 15–16 km from the spot. Beginners should complete lessons at one of these before heading out — the isolation makes Beauduc an intermediate-to-advanced destination. Camping Les Bois Flottés de Camargue is the closest camping option; Hotel et Restaurant Les Saladelles, L'effet mer, Maebrilu Camargue Provence, and Camargue Provence offer further accommodation nearby. The nearest restaurant is Mas Saint Bertrand at roughly 9 km out, with Restaurant La Camargue Nuits Salines as another option further afield. Beauduc rewards self-sufficient riders who plan ahead. Full tank, packed food, kit checked before setting off. The walk in keeps the crowds light. Leave time to get back before dark — the track out is harder to navigate once the light goes.
