About Linguizzetta

Linguizzetta sits midway along Corsica's east coast, embedded in the long Corse Oriental beach corridor — a wide, flat sweep of coastline running down the island's more exposed eastern side. The beach itself is broad, giving you comfortable room to rig and launch without fighting for space. Getting here means getting to Corsica first: ferry to Bastia in the north or direct flights in season, then the coastal road south to Linguizzetta. The commune is small and quiet — there is no resort-style infrastructure, so treat this as a self-sufficient spot and arrive provisioned. The wind picture is built around the Levante, an ENE onshore wind that runs consistently through spring and summer. It comes in from open water, hits the beach cleanly, and keeps conditions inside the bay relatively flat. That flat-water, steady-breeze combination is what makes this spot interesting for freestyle — when the Levante is light to moderate, the bay turns into a decent playground for carving and pop. The usable kite window stretches from 340° through to 160°, capturing the full north-through-east-to-southeast arc where the Levante sits comfortably. The contrast to watch for is the Libeccio, a wind from the west. On Corsica's east coast, west is offshore, and a strong Libeccio will kick up chop and push you away from shore. It changes the character of the session considerably compared to clean Levante days. If you are newer to reading wind direction and offshore conditions, the Levante days are the ones you want. The wide beach makes rigging straightforward. Flat sand, open approach, no awkward shoreline features to negotiate on launch. The flat bay rewards clean pop and carving rather than wave riding — this is not a surf-kite spot, and its charm is the smooth, uncluttered water surface that Levante conditions deliver. No facilities are documented at Linguizzetta, so plan accordingly. Bring your own water, food, and any gear spares you might need — do not expect a kite school or rental shop on-site. Services will be available in the larger towns along the coast. Skill level: the consistent onshore Levante and flat bay make this workable for intermediates who are solid in their water starts and can read changing conditions. The offshore Libeccio scenario requires more awareness, and less experienced riders should stick to confirmed Levante days only. For riders with more mileage, the freestyle potential on moderate Levante days is the main draw. Season window is spring through summer, when the Levante runs most reliably. Expect a quieter crowd compared to more developed kite spots elsewhere on the island.
