Five kilometres from Caticlan airport, logistics are simple: Caticlan is already the main gateway for Boracay, so transport is plentiful regardless of how you arrive. The launch is a sandy beach fronting a protected reef lagoon. The reef buffers incoming swell before it reaches the inner flat water, leaving a smooth, shallow surface that particularly suits riders still building confidence. A sandy bottom means standing to recover gear close to shore is usually an option, and water relaunches don't carry the penalty of a hard reef bottom waiting below.
