Ceará, Brazil
Scenic 15 km beach ~124 km from Fortaleza between Paracuru and Guajiru; red sand dunes meet a wide flat-water strip. Two distinct kite areas: Lagoa do Jegue (shallow flatwater lagoon, ideal for learning/freestyle) and the open ocean beach (waves). E trade wind blows side-onshore Jul–Dec.
Lagoinha sits on a 15-kilometre stretch of Ceará coastline roughly 124 kilometres west of Fortaleza, tucked between Paracuru and Guajiru. Getting there from Fortaleza means heading west along the coastal road, passing through Paracuru before continuing toward the beach. As you get close, the red sand dunes start to define the landscape — striking formations that drop toward the shoreline and make for an impressive backdrop when you're rigging up. The beach runs wide and flat along the water's edge, giving you room to spread out without crowding — with 15 kilometres of shore you can walk the beach to find the section that best suits the day's conditions. Two distinct zones define the riding here. Lagoa do Jegue is a shallow flatwater lagoon, calm and protected, sitting apart from the open ocean. It's well-suited for learning and for freestylers looking to work on tricks without fighting chop or swell — the water stays predictable and the shallow depth is forgiving when you come down hard on a new move. The second zone is the open ocean beach itself: Atlantic swell, waves, and real chop. Wave riders and more experienced kiters tend to gravitate there, and it delivers a very different experience from the smooth lagoon. The wind is an easterly trade wind, blowing side-onshore. The usable kite window runs from 250° through 70°, which puts the direction at an angle that keeps you working toward the shoreline rather than drifting offshore. That's a solid safety configuration — if something goes wrong during a session, the wind tends to push you toward land rather than out to sea. The consistent season runs July through December, when the trade winds are reliable and conditions are typically at their best. Outside that window the spot becomes less predictable and the trips less rewarding. On facilities: none are confirmed at Lagoinha, so treat every session here as self-sufficient. Bring water, food, tools, and anything else you'd need for a full day on the beach. This is not a developed kite resort — don't count on finding rental or repair services without researching ahead. The combination of a sheltered lagoon option and an open ocean beach makes Lagoinha versatile enough to suit a wide range of riders. Beginners and freestylers will find Lagoa do Jegue genuinely useful; wave riders will enjoy the open beach. Time your visit to the July–December season, arrive prepared, and you're in for a proper session.

You've already got wind data — the hard part is knowing what it means for you. Most kiters end up checking two, three, four apps and still asking: can I actually go?
